Dr. Sofia Chapman serves as Associate Dean for Student Life and Director of Community Engagement and Wellness at Texas Tech University School of Law. With nearly 25 years of experience across educational levels from elementary to higher education, she brings extensive administrative expertise to her leadership role.
Her professional background includes serving as Managing Director of the Office of Student Conduct at Texas Tech University, where she oversaw campus discipline systems and the TTU Code of Student Conduct while serving on the Behavior Intervention Team. Dr. Chapman's administrative portfolio spans admissions and recruitment, university policy development, mediation services, Greek life oversight, leadership programming, financial aid administration, new student orientation, and alcohol education initiatives.
Her research interests focus on higher education administration with particular emphasis on student conduct processes, community engagement strategies, wellness programming, and Latinx educational experiences. Dr. Chapman's doctoral work specifically assessed the success of Latinas completing terminal degree programs, reflecting her commitment to diversity and inclusion in academic settings.
As an adjunct faculty member in the Higher Education program, she contributes to academic instruction while maintaining her administrative leadership responsibilities. She also serves in critical compliance roles as a Title IX Advisor and Title IX Appellate Officer, demonstrating her commitment to campus safety and regulatory adherence.
