Dr. Sobia Kauser is an Associate Professor in Biomedical Science at the University of Bradford's School of Chemistry & Biosciences within the Faculty of Life Sciences. She obtained both her Bachelor of Science and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Bradford. Research focuses on skin biology with specialization in hair follicle physiology, melanocyte function, and pomc peptides' role in pigmentation.
Current investigations examine keratoacanthoma tumor regression mechanisms and explore dermal melanocyte sub-populations in melanoma development. The hair follicle serves as a primary model system for studying epithelial-mesenchymal interactions and melanocyte behavior. Dr. Kauser's work bridges cutaneous biology and oncology with emphasis on translational applications.
Academic responsibilities include serving as Deputy Programme Leader for Biomedical Science, School Equality/Diversity/Inclusion lead, and Year 2 Tutor. Teaching encompasses pathology and professional skills development. No research awards or specific student advisees are documented in the source materials.
