Dr. Sneha Karmani is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine, affiliated with the Specialized Treatment for Early Psychosis (STEP) Program and serving as the Early Detection and Assessment Coordinator (EDAC) for DMHAS region 4. She holds an MBBS from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and a MD in Psychiatry from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), India. Her clinical experience spans over 10 years, including roles as a consultant psychiatrist in India and an International Psychiatry Fellow in the UK’s NHS. Her research focuses on early intervention in psychosis, neurobiology of mental disorders, and the integration of yoga into mental health treatment. Dr. Karmani has contributed to studies on oxidative stress modulation via yoga therapy for depression and the impact of early detection campaigns in schizophrenia. She collaborates with researchers like Cenk Tek and Fangyong Li on projects addressing mental health outcomes and early psychosis interventions.
