Skylar C. Gremillion is Director of Undergraduate Studies and Senior Instructor of Sociology at Louisiana State University's Department of Sociology. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from LSU in 2013 and joined the faculty in 2014 after completing her doctoral research. Her primary responsibility is teaching, with a focus on improving pedagogical techniques and preparing undergraduate students for advanced studies.
Dr. Gremillion's research examines the intersection of gender and technology, specifically investigating how new communication technologies influence the evolution of social norms and attitudes about gender. Her teaching interests include Sociology of Law, Introductory Sociology, Current Social Problems, and Social Interaction.
She regularly teaches courses including SOCL 2001 (Introductory Sociology), SOCL 2501 (Current Social Problems), and SOCL 4471 (Sociology of Law). Her instructional approach emphasizes developing critical thinking skills and applying sociological frameworks to contemporary social issues.
