Siwen Liu

Siwen Liu is a Scientific Staff member and Ph.D. candidate at the Chair of Media Technology (Lehrstuhl für Medientechnik) within the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). She joined TUM in December 2021 after completing her Master's degree in China.

Her research focuses on Digital Twin based MMT control schemes, multi-dimensional parameters-based performance optimization of human-in-the-loop haptic teleoperation systems, and resource scheduling in teleoperation networks. Her work intersects robotics, haptics, and computer vision with applications in teleoperation systems.

Dr. Liu's recent publications demonstrate her expertise in developing advanced teleoperation frameworks that leverage Digital Twin technology to overcome time-delay challenges. Her research shows a clear progression from foundational teleoperation concepts to sophisticated hybrid control strategies that incorporate human perception metrics.

She actively supervises student theses, including research on DT-based Human-robot Teleoperation with Haptic Codecs Standard, indicating her role in mentoring the next generation of robotics researchers. Her work aligns with major research initiatives at TUM including the Centre for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop (CeTI) and DFG: Teleoperation over 5G projects.
