Siri Forsmo

Siri Forsmo is the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), a position she has held since March 2021. Prior to this, she served as Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Nursing (2017–2021) and Head of the Department of Community Medicine (2013–2017). She holds a Professorship in Community Medicine. She earned her Cand. med. (1985) from the University of Trondheim, a Master of Public Health (1990) from the University of Tromsø, and a Dr.med. (1997) from NTNU.

Her research focuses on screening consequences, osteoporosis and fractures, public health, cancer diseases, and epidemiological methods. She has contributed to studies on the effects of screening programs, bone health outcomes in populations, and the intersection of chronic diseases with bone health. Her work emphasizes epidemiological and qualitative approaches to understand health disparities and improve public health strategies.
