Siobhan Strike is an Honorary Research Fellow and former Deputy Dean in the School of Life and Health Sciences at the University of Roehampton. Her expertise bridges Sport Science and Medicine, focusing on biomechanics of injury rehabilitation and prosthetic design for amputees. She has supervised 13 PhD students and collaborates with institutions like the Sport Surgery Clinic in Dublin and Blatchford Prosthetics. Her research includes the BioARM rehabilitation method and advancements in prosthetic limb technology. She has contributed to over 68 publications, with recent work addressing ACL injury risks and prosthetic gait analysis.
Education: PhD in Biomechanics (University of Ulster, 1997), BA in Physical Education and Mathematics (University of Limerick, 1992). Teaching focuses on biomechanics, using digital tools for active learning. Key projects include Achilles rupture rehabilitation and hamstring injury recovery.
Research collaborations span Ireland and involve industrial partners like Limbpower. Her work has improved clinical practices and reduced costs for musculoskeletal injury patients. She serves on academic committees and contributed to the University's TEF Silver rating.
