Siobhan Mclernon

Dr. Siobhan Mclernon is a Senior Lecturer and Adult Nursing co-lead at the School of Health and Social Care, specializing in neuroscience nursing and acute care. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, an MSc in Neuroscience from King's College London, and a PhD from London South Bank University (2022). Her research focuses on acquired brain injury outcomes, particularly vascular and traumatic brain injuries, with emphasis on improving clinical decision-making and care pathways in neurocritical care settings.

Her research highlights include a landmark UK study on 6-month functional outcomes for intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) patients, published in Neurocritical Care and Journal of the Neurological Sciences. She advocates for standardized clinical pathways to counteract clinical pessimism affecting ICH patient care. Current projects investigate stroke risk factors in BME populations, funded by the Burdett Trust.
