Siniša Malešević is a Full Professor of Comparative Historical Sociology at University College Dublin. He is an elected member of the Royal Irish Academy, Academia Europaea, and an Associated Member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He holds a Senior Fellowship at CNAM, Paris. His research focuses on organized violence, nation-states, nationalism, and sociological theory.
Education and Career: He has held visiting appointments at institutions including LSE, Uppsala University, and the Australian Defence College. His academic journey includes roles at CEU, University of Galway, and others.
Research Interests: His work examines the sociological dynamics of violence, nationalism, and historical institutional structures. Key themes include close-range violence, state formation, and the sociological foundations of war. He bridges classical and contemporary theory in his analyses.
