Sinead Harrington

Sinead Harrington is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. She holds a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Thomas Jefferson University, following a Bachelor’s in Health Science and Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University. Her research focuses on improving self-management for individuals with chronic conditions like COPD, leveraging technology such as artificial intelligence in occupational therapy practice and education. She also explores the role of social media among occupational therapy professionals and aging-in-place strategies through her CAPS certification.

Previously, she served as a full-time Assistant Professor at Iona University’s Master of Occupational Therapy program and adjunct faculty at Mercy University. She actively contributes to accreditation as an ACOTE reviewer, evaluating occupational therapy programs nationwide. Her professional engagements span clinical practice, education, and policy, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to healthcare delivery.
