Sinclair A. Smith

Sinclair A. Smith, ScD, is a Professor at Saint Joseph's University, holding appointments in the Department of Health Sciences and Department of Physician Assistant. He previously served as Dean of the School of Health Professions (2022–2023) and Dean of the Samson College of Health Sciences at the University of the Sciences (2020–2022). Prior roles include Department Chair and Director of the Doctor of Health Sciences Program at Drexel University.

Research & Teaching: Dr. Smith’s expertise spans dietary supplements, aging, mitochondrial bioenergetics, and physiology. He has taught over 20 courses in anatomy, neuroscience, kinesiology, and research methods. His research employs near-infrared and magnetic resonance spectroscopy. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed works and mentored 50+ graduate students.

Affiliations: Member of the American Physiological Society and American College of Sports Medicine. Before academia, he served in the US Army’s Altitude Physiology and Medicine Division.
