Dr. Sinan Kaya is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He specializes in Ottoman history with a focus on institutional reforms, economic policy, and administrative systems during the Tanzimat era. His research emphasizes regional implementation of central policies and comparative historical methodologies.

Research Interests: Ottoman bureaucratic systems, economic reforms of the 19th century, comparative imperial administration, and historical methodologies in regional governance studies. His work bridges macro-institutional analysis with micro-regional case studies like Bursa's implementation of central reforms.
Publications Trends: Recent work focuses on decision-making processes in the Ottoman bureaucracy during early Tanzimat, particularly economic policy formulation and provincial administration. His 2024 study on Bursa's tax enumeration (temettuat) reveals mechanisms of centralized control over local economies.
Projects: Participated in TÜBİTAK-funded research on Ottoman agricultural commercialization (2020-2022) and EU-funded comparative urbanization study (2016-2022). Also served as consultant for Koç University's archival cataloging projects on military collections and Hüseyin Hilmi Paşa documents.
