Kerem Geçmen is an Assistant Professor at Yeditepe University's Department of Translation Studies within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in Translation Sciences from Istanbul 29 Mayis University (2016-2022) and earlier degrees from Boğaziçi University, including a Master's in Philosophy (2009-2014) and a BA in Translation Studies (2004-2008). His research focuses on translation theory, terminography, and intercultural communication, with notable contributions to target-oriented translation perspectives and retranslation studies.
He has authored books such as The Strange History of Humanity and Çeviribilimde Güncel Tartışmalardan Kavramsal Sorgulamalara, and published peer-reviewed articles in journals like TransLogos. His administrative roles include serving as Department Chair at Yeditepe University since 2024 and previous leadership positions at Istanbul Medipol University. He teaches courses in computer-aided translation, localization, and specialized text translation.
Geçmen actively participates in international conferences, presenting on topics like translation strategies and terminological research. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in translation education and technology integration.
