Dr. Simone Provenzano is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Master of Science in Exercise Physiology program at the Mayborn College of Health Sciences, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB). She also serves as the Wellness Education Coordinator and teaches a diverse range of courses including Exercise Testing & Prescription, Advanced Resistance Training, Lifespan Nutrition, and Yoga.
Her educational background includes a B.S. and M.S.Ed. in Exercise Physiology from UMHB and a Ph.D. in Health & Human Performance from Concordia University/Chicago. Her doctoral research focused on the effects of slow-deep breathing on stress and anxiety in Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students, reflecting her strong interest in integrative mind-body approaches to wellness.

She began her teaching career at UMHB as an adjunct instructor in the Exercise Science Department and also taught at Temple College. Her personal commitment to fitness is evident through her participation in multiple Ironman triathlons, marathons, and other endurance events. She resides in Belton, Texas with her family and is active in outdoor recreation and her community at Vista Community Church in Temple.
Dr. Provenzano has held leadership roles in academic programming and continues to contribute to health sciences education through curriculum development and student mentorship.
