Simone Piazza

Simone Piazza is a Full Professor at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He serves as the Coordinator of the PhD Course in History of Arts and Rector's Delegate for Cultural Heritage Management, with a focus on Medieval Art History, Byzantine Art, and Cultural Heritage Conservation.

Recent Publications highlight his expertise in Romanesque Architecture, Byzantine Techniques, and Art Reconstruction, including studies on Venetian mosaics, Sicilian cave paintings, and Armenian monasteries. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, combining archaeological methods with art-historical analysis.

Teaching includes courses on Byzantine Art, Medieval Iconography, and Cultural Heritage Management at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
