Ludovico Geymonat is an Associate Professor of Art History and Undergraduate Coordinator at Louisiana State University (LSU) within the College of Art & Design. He specializes in medieval art, with a focus on Byzantine and Romanesque wall paintings, medieval drawings, and monumental programs. His work explores how images and ideas circulated in the Middle Ages, particularly through studies of liturgical spaces and apocalyptic imagery.
Education: BA in Art History from Universitá di Torino (Turin, Italy), MA and PhD in Art History from Princeton University. Prior to LSU, he was a visiting professor at the University of Notre Dame.
Research Interests: Medieval art and architecture of Europe and the Mediterranean, including studies on the Baptistery of Parma, Venetian Gothic sculpture, and medieval drawing techniques.
