Simone Fabiano is a Professor and Head of Unit at Linköping University's Department of Science and Technology, leading the Organic Nanoelectronics group within the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE). He specializes in organic conductors and mixed ion-electron conductors for printed electronics and neuromorphic computing. His academic journey includes a MSc from the University of Catania (2008), a PhD from the University of Palermo (2012), postdoctoral research at LiU, and a Marie Curie Fellowship at Northwestern University (2016–2017). Since 2020, he holds a Docent title in Applied Physics.
Research Interests: Fabiano’s work focuses on developing advanced organic materials for neuromorphic devices, sustainable electronics, and bioinspired systems. His group explores applications in soft electronics, artificial neurons, and energy-efficient circuits. Recent breakthroughs include heat-driven transistors and conductive polymer inks.
Key Awards: ERC Consolidator Grant (2023), Marie Curie Fellowship, VINNEMER Fellowship, and Wallenberg Academy Fellow (2023). His research has been funded by WISE and Swedish national grants.
Labs/Teams: Head of the Organic Nanoelectronics group at LOE, collaborating on projects like the EU-funded WISE initiative. His team develops printable circuits, neuromorphic devices, and sustainable semiconductors.
