Simone Degeling is a Professor of Law at UNSW Law, Australia, specializing in private law with expertise in equity & trusts, restitution, remedies, and the intersection of civil procedure and private law doctrine. She holds a B Com (with Merit), LLB from UNSW, an LLM (with Merit) from University College London, and a DPhil from the University of Oxford. Her academic leadership includes roles as Co-Director of the UNSW Law Private Law Policy & Research Group and former Private Law Research Leader of the IMF Bentham Class Actions Initiative.
Her research focuses on equitable principles, fiduciary obligations, and class action proceedings. She has authored/co-authored books such as A Sourcebook on Equity and Trusts in Australia and edited volumes including Philosophical Foundations of the Law of Express Trusts.
