Simone Carrea

Simone Carrea is an Associate Professor of International Law in the Department of Law at the University of Genoa. He teaches International Law in both bachelor’s and single-cycle master’s degree programmes, and he holds office hours by appointment on Thursdays from 10:00–12:00.

His research spans the broad domain of public international law with special focus on maritime law, law of the sea, public procurement, and infrastructure regulation. Recent work examines the legal implications of the Red Sea crisis on maritime delicts, renewable-energy regimes at sea, railway-infrastructure liability under EU law, and procedural safeguards in cross-border public-procurement disputes.

Recent scholarly output (2022–2024) shows a consistent trajectory toward the intersection of international legal norms and sector-specific regulatory frameworks, particularly in energy, transport, and maritime governance.
