معرفی
Simona Corso is an Associate Professor at the Department of Oncology, University of Turin, and Principal Investigator at the Cancer Molecular Biology Lab within the Candiolo Cancer Institute, FPO-IRCCS. Her research focuses on mechanisms of cancer resistance and the development of molecularly annotated patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models for gastro-esophageal cancers. She coordinates interdisciplinary studies on cell-autonomous and non-cell-autonomous resistance pathways, contributing to translational oncology and precision medicine.
Corso’s work includes generating one of the largest academic PDX platforms for gastro-esophageal tumors, enabling preclinical therapeutic screening and biomarker discovery. Collaborations, such as with Prof. Silvia Giordano, highlight her role in advancing preclinical models and understanding tumor heterogeneity.
Her teaching responsibilities include courses on Cancer Cellular Biology, Histology, and Molecular Medicine within undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Turin. She actively participates in academic governance through roles in the Department Council and Research Commission.
