Simon ter Meulen is an Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) at the ifo Center for the Economics of Education, University of Munich, and a CESifo affiliate. His research focuses on Labor Economics and the Economics of Education, employing (quasi-)experimental methods to inform education policymakers, teachers, and parents. He has collaborated extensively on topics like school starting age, grade retention, and refugee education.
- Teaching: Taught courses including 'Economic Evaluation of Education Policies' (rated 1.0/1.0 by students) and 'BSc Economics of Education.'
