Simon Kušar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. He earned his PhD in Geographical Sciences in 2009, focusing on institutional factors in manufacturing location. Since 2001, he has taught courses including Economic Geography, Regional Planning, and Geographic Fieldwork, later promoted to lecturer in 2017.
His research explores institutional approaches in economic geography, location theory, foreign investments, derelict areas, regional development challenges, green infrastructure, and informal planning. He holds administrative roles as Head of Regional Analysis and Planning, Alumni Coordinator, and Practical Training Coordinator.
