Simon King

Simon King is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the MSc Nuclear Medicine programme at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. He holds a part-time Doctorate through UWE's 'Doctoral Capacity Building' programme and previously completed a part-time Master's in Nuclear Medicine in 2012. His professional background includes NHS experience as a HCPC-registered Diagnostic Radiographer specializing in Nuclear Medicine since 2006.

He leads modules on the undergraduate Diagnostic Imaging (Radiography) programme and oversees the MSc Nuclear Medicine distance-learning programme. His expertise focuses on Nuclear Medicine technologies (e.g., SPECT/CT, PET/CT), Cross-Sectional Imaging (CT), and workforce development through competency frameworks. He has pioneered innovative teaching methods using Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.

Key achievements include Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (UK Professional Standards Framework) and membership in the SCoR Nuclear Medicine Advisory Group. He also serves as an External Examiner for Trinity College Dublin's MSc Medical Imaging programme.
