Simon Jon Andreasen

Simon Jon Andreasen is a PhD research fellow at the University of Inland Norway, Faculty of Film, TV and Games, Department of Game Development – The Game School, based at the Hamar campus. He is actively affiliated with the User Perception and Engagement in XR Experiences (UPEXRE) research group.

His research centers on game development and extended reality (XR) technologies, with specific emphasis on user perception, engagement, and psychological responses in immersive virtual and augmented reality environments. This work bridges human-computer interaction, cognitive science, and game design to advance experiential quality in digital media applications.

As a core member of UPEXRE, Andreasen contributes to interdisciplinary studies examining how XR interfaces influence user behavior and emotional responses, supporting innovation in educational gaming, therapeutic applications, and entertainment media through evidence-based design principles.
