Simon Hug is a Full Professor at the University of Geneva, where he teaches in the fields of methods and international relations. Previously, he taught at the University of Texas at Austin, the University of St. Gallen, and the University of Zurich. He holds a PhD from the University of Michigan.
Professor Hug's research focuses on political institutions and civil wars, parliamentary behavior, and international institutions. His methodological expertise includes quantitative methods and formal political theory. His work examines conflicts, voting behavior in legislatures, and the impact of institutional design on political outcomes.
