Professor Simon Green is a faculty member at the University of Hull's School of Criminology, Sociology and Policing within the Faculty of Arts, Cultures and Education. He holds the title of Director of the Wilberforce Institute, a leading research center on modern slavery and historical injustices. His roles include former Chair of the EU-funded COST Action on victimology and current Principal Investigator for policing initiatives like the Humber Violence Prevention Partnership.

Research focuses on modern slavery victimology, restorative justice, and community safety. Notable projects include developing predictive policing apps and VR training tools through the Humberside Police Academic Partnership (H-PAC). Supervised 8 completed PhDs and currently guides 4 students in areas like child trafficking and sex trafficking enforcement. Funded by ESRC, Horizon Europe, and multiple governmental agencies.
Articles highlight victim resilience frameworks, comparative studies on slavery victims, and systemic models of child exploitation.
