Simon Gould

Simon Gould is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the BSc Biomedical Science program at Kingston University's Department of Biomolecular Sciences within the School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry. With a career rooted in microbiology, he lectures across all academic levels (3-7) on bacteriology, biochemistry, and biomedical sciences, contributing to courses such as Biological Sciences, Pharmacology, and Leadership and Management.

His research focuses on antibiotic resistance, antimicrobial properties of natural products and copper, and clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus. He leads a multidisciplinary team tackling antibiotic resistance challenges. Since joining Kingston University in 2009, he has advanced to Senior Lecturer in 2011 and assumed course leadership in 2019.
