Simon Chuong

Simon Chuong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Waterloo. His research focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying single-cell C4 photosynthesis in terrestrial plants.

His work investigates organelle movement and macromolecule localization in C4 systems using techniques like immunofluorescence, electron microscopy, and live-cell imaging. Research aims to enhance carbon fixation in C3 crops under climate stress conditions.

Scientific awards include the NSERC Discovery Accelerator Supplements (2008-2011). He serves as an Undergraduate Advisor for Honors Biology and Department Safety Coordinator.
