Dr. Simon Anglim is a Teaching Fellow in King’s College London’s Department of War Studies, part of the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. He convenes MA and BA modules on contemporary warfare and teaches on strategy and military ethics. His research focuses on insurgency, special forces history, and British military strategy in the Middle East, particularly Oman’s 20th-century conflicts. He co-coordinates the KCL War Studies-HQ Allied Rapid Reaction Corps Initiative, offering students practical engagement with NATO strategic challenges.
Anglim’s academic work includes monographs on Orde Wingate (Templer Medal shortlisted) and over 30 articles on military history and strategy. He advises the Chindit Association and speaks at institutions like the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. His current research explores Oman’s Djebel War of the 1950s, blending fieldwork with archival analysis.
Key interests span military ethics, small wars doctrine, and the intersection of professional education with operational effectiveness. He has held office hours at Strand Campus and contributed to King’s Contemporary British History initiatives.
