Prof. Dr. Silvija Markic is currently a Professor at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU Munich), having previously served as Akademische Rätin at the University of Bremen since 2009. Her work focuses on science and chemistry education, particularly teacher training, student beliefs, and inquiry-based learning methodologies. She holds a PhD in Natural Sciences (2008, summa cum laude) from the University of Bremen and has conducted extensive research on transformative education and sustainable development. She has held adjunct teaching roles at Bremen’s Gymnasium an der Hamburger Straße and served as a reviewer for journals like CERP and IJSE. Her research has been recognized with awards such as the 2006 Poster Prize at the Society for Chemistry and Physics Education conference.
