Silvia Lampis-Dep is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Verona. Her research focuses on environmental microbiology, microbial interactions with metals/metalloids, and biotechnological applications. She leads studies on microbial bioremediation, nanomaterial synthesis, and plant-microbe interactions in agricultural systems. She is affiliated with the 'Biotecnologie Microbiche e Microbiologia Ambientale' research group based at Ca' Vignal 2, Verona.
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Environmental Microbiology and Bioremediation, Industrial Microbial Biotechnology, and General Microbiology across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. She has contributed to over 70 teaching modules since 2005.
Her research projects include SUSTAIN (carbon sequestration in vineyards), Se4SAFE (selenium fortified tomatoes), and TriAZO-BioREM (bioremediation of triazole pollutants). She holds administrative roles in PhD programs and departmental committees, and collaborates with spin-off companies like Microbion S.r.l.
Key research areas: microbial catalysis in biogeochemical cycles, biofilm inhibition via bio-synthesized nanoparticles, and sustainable wastewater treatment processes.
