Silvana Mengoni is an Associate Professor and Joint Head of the Research Centre for Health Services and Clinical Research at the University of Hertfordshire's School of Life and Medical Sciences. Her primary affiliation is with the Department of Psychology, Sport and Geography, where she contributes to the Psychology and NeuroDiversity Applied Research Unit and Health Research Methods Unit. She holds a PhD from the University of York, specializing in developmental psychology and neurodiversity.
Her academic background includes roles as a Research Associate at the Open University (2012-2014) and Project Co-ordinator at York's Centre for Reading and Language. Her research focuses on applied health services, particularly for individuals with learning disabilities, Down syndrome, and epilepsy. Methodological strengths include clinical trials, mixed-methods research, and process evaluations.
