Dr. Siim Tuksam is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the Estonian Academy of Arts, where he also serves as Head of the Doctoral Curriculum in Architecture and Urban Planning. He co-founded PART – Practice for Architecture, Research and Theory and the Timber Architecture Research Centre PAKK. His research focuses on algorithmic tools for prefabricated architecture, digital design discourse, and sustainable timber construction.
Education: Master of Architecture (2013, University of Applied Arts Vienna) and PhD in Architecture and Urban Planning (2020, Estonian Academy of Arts) with the thesis “Modulated Modularity – from mass customisation to custom mass production”.
Research interests include computational design, modular systems, and the intersection of digital technology with traditional craftsmanship. Recent work explores CLT offcuts recycling, infrastructure aesthetics, and urban agriculture through modular designs.
He leads the Professional Studio and actively collaborates with industry on projects blending research and practice. No scientific awards are explicitly mentioned.
