Professor A.H.C. de Rijke is a faculty member at TU Delft’s Department of Architectural Engineering + Technology, specializing in Timber Architecture. His role emphasizes sustainable design using bio-based and recycled materials, particularly cross-laminated timber (CLT). He leads research initiatives like the BioBuild Lab, focusing on prototype testing and student collaboration to advance all-timber structures.
As founder of dRMM Studio, he pioneered timber applications in public architecture. His academic career includes part-time teaching roles since 1988, a Deanship at the Royal College of Art (2011–2015), and visiting positions at global institutions.
