Sigurd Maurud is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Public Health and Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo. His work focuses on health informatics and public health, particularly on optimizing digital health services for users with varying levels of health and digital literacy.

Research interests include health informatics, digital literacy, equitable access to healthcare, and methodological approaches for improving patient-professional interactions. He is involved in the Gravitate-Health project and part of the Digital Health Services, Coordination and Citizenship (DCC) research group.
His 2022-2025 publications address cross-sectional and mixed-method studies on digital health literacy, inflammatory bowel disease, and accessibility challenges in healthcare. These works emphasize user-centered design and health equity.

Maurud has held roles as a Research Assistant (2020-2021) and Nurse (2018-2020). He currently serves as a Representative for temporary scientific employees on the Institute Board of the Institute of Health and Society (2023).
