Siegfried Walch

Siegfried Walch is a Professor and Head of the Department of Nonprofit-, Social & Health Management at Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), The Entrepreneurial School. He also serves as Head of the Ulysseus European University at MCI, representing the institution in the Ulysseus Governing Council. His academic roles include leading the European Master in Health Economics & Management (EMJMD), a joint program with universities in Bologna, Rotterdam, and Oslo. He has extensive board memberships, including the Eu-HEM consortium and the European Health Management Association (EHMA).

Education highlights include a Dr. rer. pol. from Free University of Berlin (1998) and a Mag. rer. soc. oec. from University of Innsbruck (1994). He completed leadership courses at the National Defence Academy (2004) and the European Observatory's Hospital Reengineering Summer School (2008).

Research focuses on health management innovation, stakeholder alignment in healthcare systems, and resilience strategies for communities. His work integrates public health policy, sustainable tourism, and cross-border healthcare governance. Recent projects address climate change impacts on winter tourism and SDG-driven education models.

Teaching spans international programs at MCI and guest lectures at institutions like Bocconi University and Murdoch University. He has supervised over 60 theses in health management, nonprofit leadership, and social policy.

Key initiatives include developing the Euregio Lab think tank and leading the Center for Social and Health Innovation (CSHI). His work emphasizes multistakeholder collaboration to address noncommunicable diseases and urban health challenges.
