Sidsel Palmstrøm

Sidsel Palmstrøm is an Associate Professor of Textile Art at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Her practice-based research explores textiles as conceptual objects and installations, examining intersections between materiality, human history, and mental undercurrents through rigorous material processing and contextual repositioning.

2018–2022 research outputs include installations like WALL/WAITING ROOM (2022) and WEIGHT (2022), emphasizing material tension and sensory memory. Collaborative projects such as Text and Rope (2019) with Thure Erik Lund demonstrate interdisciplinary approaches to textile symbolism.
