Siddhartha Ghosh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University. His research focuses on acousto-optic signal processing, integrated photonics, piezoelectric MEMS, and oscillator-based computing. He holds a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University (2015) and has worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory (2015–2020). He leads the MAPS Laboratory and has received notable awards including the NSF CAREER Award (2024) and DARPA Young Faculty Award (2023).
- Education: BS, Cornell University (2007); MSE, University of Pennsylvania (2011); PhD, Carnegie Mellon University (2015).
Research interests include nanofabrication, heterogeneous material integration, and novel microsystems for RF/optical signal processing. His work bridges electromagnetics, microsystems, and optoelectronics. Recent projects include the NSF-funded Semiconductor on Nitride PhoXonic Integrated Circuit (SONIC) platform and DARPA-supported opto-mechanical sensor development.
Publications span topics like acoustic wave amplification in GaN heterostructures, coupled oscillator Ising machines, and lithium niobate integration with photonic circuits. His work aims to advance chip-scale signal processing and quantum computing applications.
- Awards: NSF CAREER (2024), DARPA Young Faculty (2023), and over 20 journal/conference publications.
He advises PhD students like Jack Guida and collaborates on interdisciplinary grants. The MAPS Laboratory focuses on developing next-generation acoustic and photonic devices for defense and quantum technologies.
