Kaixuan Ye is a Researcher at the Nonlinear Nanophotonics Group within the MESA+ Institute, specializing in integrated photonics and nonlinear optical phenomena. Current work focuses on advancing Brillouin scattering applications in thin-film platforms for microwave photonic systems.
Research interests center on photonics with emphasis on Brillouin scattering, thin-film lithium niobate, silicon photonics, and microwave photonic circuits. Key contributions include developing programmable integrated filters, RF front-ends with cascaded functions, and novel waveguide designs for enhanced acousto-optic interactions in non-suspended platforms.
Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal a concentrated research trajectory toward practical implementations of Brillouin-based devices in lithium niobate and silicon photonics. Dominant themes include integrated microwave photonic circuits, notch filtering, true time delay systems, and ultra-low-loss waveguide engineering, demonstrating significant progress in dynamic range and noise reduction for telecommunications applications.
