Dr. Siba Harb is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy within the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences at Tilburg University. Her research focuses on contemporary moral and political philosophy, with a particular emphasis on theories of justice (domestic, EU, and global), freedom of association, exclusion, and responsibility for harm. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from KU Leuven (2020), an MPhil in Political Philosophy from KU Leuven (2013), an MA in Legal and Political Theory from University College London (2011), and a BSc in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut (2005).
Her career includes roles as a Research Associate at King’s College London (2020–2021), Lecturer at Utrecht University (2019–2020), and Lecturer at Leiden University (2018–2020). She also served as a Phd Examiner at the University of Pompeu Fabra (2023). Her teaching portfolio spans courses on global justice, business ethics, identity politics, and sustainability. Prior to academia, she worked in corporate and non-governmental sectors (2005–2010).
Her research explores themes such as distributive justice, EU integration challenges, and the ethical dimensions of global lingua francas. Her work critically engages with questions of legitimacy in exclusionary policies and the moral obligations of affluent nations toward global inequality.
