Shuyi Xie

Shuyi Xie is a Teaching Assistant in Collaborative Piano at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a Doctoral of Musical Arts degree under Dr. Colette Valentine. She holds a Master's and Professional Studies Certificate in Collaborative Piano from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she also served as a collaborative pianist in Pre-College and Continuing Education programs (2020–2022).

Her research and performance interests center on collaborative piano, chamber music, and vocal arts. She has performed widely, including the Bach-Millennium Opera Festival and a notable 2021 remote performance of the Yellow River Piano Concerto with the Changsha Symphony, covered by CCTV and Xinhua Media. Her work emphasizes cross-cultural musical collaboration and pedagogical innovation.

Ms. Xie has collaborated with renowned artists such as Martin Katz, Viyay Gupta, and Ray Chen, and has participated in over 200 concerts across symphonies, chamber ensembles, and recitals in San Francisco and Austin. Her current teaching focuses on fostering interdisciplinary musical partnerships.
