معرفی
Shuxin Li, Professor at the Department of Neural Sciences, Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University, specializes in axonal regeneration and neuronal repair mechanisms in the central nervous system (CNS). Their research focuses on overcoming barriers to recovery from CNS injuries like spinal cord trauma, stroke, and multiple sclerosis.
- Education: MD (1986) and MSc (1989) in Neurosurgery from Henan Medical University; PhD in Neurobiology (2000) from University of Ottawa; Postdoctoral training at Yale University (2004).
Research Interests: Characterizing axonal growth inhibition by extrinsic factors (e.g., myelin-derived molecules, glial scar proteoglycans) and intracellular signaling pathways regulating neuronal survival post-injury. The lab develops therapeutic strategies, including antagonist peptides, to enhance CNS regeneration and repair.
- Key Techniques: Protein binding assays, genetic/pharmacological methods, neuronal cultures, in vivo axon lesion models, behavioral evaluations in rodents.
