Shujun Wan is a Research Fellow at the Institute for German Language and Linguistics, Humboldt University of Berlin, affiliated with the Faculty of Language and Literature. She concurrently serves as a Research Assistant at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). Her research focuses on learner corpus analysis, discourse analysis, natural language processing, and contrastive rhetoric, with a particular emphasis on register competence in second language acquisition. She leads projects like OpenGPT-X (AI language models), SFB 1412 C04 (register knowledge in learner languages), and the expansion of Connective-Lex.info for Chinese.
Education: PhD in Corpus Linguistics (Humboldt University, 2023), Master of German as a Foreign/Technical Language (Technical University of Berlin, 2016), and Bachelor's/Master's in German Linguistics (Zhejiang University). Notable achievements include a Best Poster Award (2019) and an Outstanding Undergraduate Project Award (2012).
Her work spans collaborative projects with institutions like the Chinese National Social Science Foundation and DFG-funded initiatives. Teaching experience includes courses on grammatical models and linguistic methods (2017–2018). Ongoing tool development includes RST-Tace (discourse tree evaluation) and contributions to multilingual lexical resources.
