Shuang Liu

Professor Shuang Liu is a leading academic in intercultural communication at the School of Communication and Arts, University of Queensland, focusing on aging, immigration, and cultural identity. She holds a PhD from Hong Kong Baptist University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Queensland.

Her research examines how older migrants build a sense of home, integrate family and community care, and interact with environments to enhance well-being. She leads an ARC linkage grant (2022-2025) with FECCA and MCCGC to inform aged care policy in Australia.

Her recent articles explore care networks, acculturation dynamics, and cultural home theories, with works adopted globally in prestigious institutions. She has authored two influential books and a widely used textbook in its 4th edition.
