Shu-yi Wang is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Landscape Architecture, Chinese Culture University, Taiwan. They hold a Ph.D. in Design and Planning from the University of Colorado and previously served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore (2009-2011).
Research focuses on heritage tourism and its socio-cultural impacts on local communities, particularly in Asia. Key areas include heritage preservation in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Philippines) and exploring neoliberal contexts in cultural heritage management.
Wang participated in sessions like Preserving Difficult Heritage in a Neoliberal Context in Asia, reflecting their engagement with global academic discourse on post-industrial heritage and community-based approaches.
