Shu-Min Liao is an Assistant Professor of Statistics at Amherst College. She earned her PhD in Statistics from Pennsylvania State University in 2009. Her career was temporarily interrupted by life-threatening medical complications (2013–2018), which shaped her advocacy for accessibility and DEIAB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging) initiatives. She is actively involved in the ASA Committee on Statistics and Disability (CSD) and the JEDI Outreach Group.
