IHE Delft Institute for Water Educationمعرفی
Shreedhar Maskey is an academic with expertise in hydrology, civil engineering, and climate change adaptation. His roles include associate editorships for the Journal of Hydrology and the Journal of Flood Risk Management, and chairing the Mountain Hydrology Working Group under IAHS Panta Rhei. He has extensive experience in research supervision, teaching graduate and undergraduate students, and developing hydrological models for flood and drought forecasting.
His research focuses on process-based distributed hydrological modeling, snow/glacier dynamics, and climate change impacts on river basins globally, including the Mekong, Yellow, Yangtze, Koshi, and numerous catchments across Africa, Asia, and Europe. He also explores uncertainty analysis in hydrological systems and the application of machine learning for water resource management.
Recent publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to water security, risk management, and sediment supply dynamics in coastal regions. His work highlights the interplay between hydrological processes and ecological/social systems, particularly in mountainous terrain and vulnerable basins.
He has not been explicitly noted for scientific awards, but his contributions to hydrological modeling and climate adaptation are widely recognized. While no current students or grants are listed, his supervision experience indicates active involvement in academic mentorship. His participation in IAHS Panta Rhei underscores leadership in mountain hydrology research and collaborative initiatives.
