Shoujun Chen

Dr. Shoujun Chen serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University. His academic journey spans multiple prestigious institutions across China and the United States, reflecting a strong international background in medical education and specialized pathology training.

Dr. Chen's educational path began with his Doctorate from Tongji Medical University in Wuhan, P.R. China, followed by advanced training in the United States where he earned a PhD and completed his Residency at Louisiana State University – Shreveport. His specialized expertise was further developed through three distinct fellowships: Cytopathology and Breast/GYN at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Postdoctoral Research at the University of South Florida.

His research interests focus on specialized areas of pathology including Cytopathology, Breast Pathology, and Gynecological Pathology, with clinical applications in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Chen holds dual board certification from the American Board of Pathology, demonstrating comprehensive expertise across the pathology spectrum.

As a Clinical Assistant Professor, Dr. Chen contributes to medical education at the Brody School of Medicine while maintaining active clinical practice. His office is located in the Brody Building (7S10) at East Carolina University's Greenville campus, where he provides specialized pathology services and mentors the next generation of medical professionals.
