Shou Ling Leong

Shou Ling Leong, MD is a Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Assistant Dean for Pathways Innovation at Penn State College of Medicine. She holds leadership roles including Director of Longitudinal and Accelerated Pathways and Associate Vice-Chair for Education. Her academic focus centers on medical education innovation, particularly in accelerated medical programs and residency training. Leong is board-certified in family medicine and has contributed to primary care research and policy.

Education: MD from New York University, Family Practice Residency at Swedish Hospital, BS from The City College of New York.

Research Interests: Medical student pathways, curriculum design, healthcare education policy, and disparities in healthcare access. Key projects include the Consortium of Accelerated Medical Pathway Programs (CAMPP) and evaluations of medical training outcomes.

Grants: Principal Investigator for the Primary Care Training and Enhancement Program (active) and E-MAIL-BASED EDUCATION & INHALER REGIMEN FOR IMPROVING COMPLIANCE IN ASTHMA (2003-2006).

Awards: 2004 Distinguished Educator Award.
