Shirin Hine is a Researcher affiliated with the School of Education, Communication & Society at King's College London. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Child Studies (King's College London, 2020). Her work focuses on environmental education, gender equity in Forest School practices, and participatory research methods. Hine has contributed to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education and environmental sustainability.
Her research interests include neurodiversity in education, eco-feminist perspectives, and children's rights frameworks. She has published peer-reviewed articles and co-edited books exploring pedagogical innovations in environmental education. Notable publications include Heartwood series (2023, 2024) and studies on gender dynamics in Forest School settings.
Hine has received the Fortin-Ross Prize (2020) and Rosalind Driver Studentship (2019). She actively contributes to academic discourse through peer-review roles for journals like Research in Science and Technological Education and Gender and Education. Her international engagements include invited talks at Zhejiang University's summer schools on education and environmental practices.
